A global art and research factory.

Do you want to learn and experience photography from another perspective?

OVERVIEW

The International Photo Lab is an experimental and mobile platform that aims to give Swedish photographers and artists new perspectives on art based on a predetermined focus area (Autumn term 2022: Africa). The course is largely based on your individual projects and research while you continuously gain new insights from meeting with international guest lecturers and artists.

This course is well suited for those who wish to immerse themselves in their practice, learn by doing and have valuable exchanges with fellow students. It is also a full time online course making it well suited for those interested in combining studies with travel, working or living outside of Sweden.

COURSE CONTENT

The International Photo lab is a full-time course for photographers, artists and other cultural practitioners who want to work with photography and art from a global viewpoint.

During this course you will have the opportunity to examine art and artists’ conditions globally, local purposes and working methods as well as alternative platforms to meet an audience. The aim of the course is to give you tools, knowledge and experience for continued global collaborations and a possible future international career in your field.

The course alternates critical conversations and group supervision with lectures by photographers and creators from around the world. During the course, in addition to your own projects, we also conduct interviews and conversations with international actors in the field.

At the end of the course parts of the produced material will be published and distributed as a digital book.
